Its partnership with North Carolina University has helped the College of Engineering, Pune, build a strong identity in composite materials and nanotechnology, while also enabling the organisation of international conferences and enhancing global recognition.
Collaboration between the Medical College, Pune, and the Government of Maharashtra has facilitated numerous clinical trials, providing faculty opportunities to contribute as experts to the ‘Standard Treatment Protocols’ project and strengthening the University’s role in medical research and public healthcare.

The Institute of Environment Education and Research (IEER), Pune, undertakes interdisciplinary research with the University of Cologne and the University of Augsburg, Germany. Key projects focus on climate change, water resource management, urban health monitoring, and environmental modelling in the Western Ghats.

The institute also contributes to a four-nation initiative on ‘Education for Sustainable Development’ (ESD) in collaboration with GIZ, Germany, and global academic and government partners. These collaborative efforts have enhanced the University’s research visibility at national and international levels.

Notable contributions include work in immunomodulatory drugs, pathogen studies, water and public health, probiotics, biomedical waste management, and sustainable environmental practices.
