National Students Research Conference 1.0

The National Students Research Conference on Indian Traditional Knowledge Systems (NSRC 1.0) was successfully organized by the Centre for Indian Traditional Knowledge & Cultural Studies (CITKCS), Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Architecture, on Thursday and Friday, 26th and 27th September 2024.

Envisioned as a national platform for student researchers, the conference aimed to foster awareness, research, and scholarly discourse on Indian Traditional Knowledge Systems and their relevance in contemporary practice. The two-day conference brought together undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, academicians, and professionals from across the country, creating an enriching environment for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary learning.

NSRC 1.0 invited research contributions under the following thematic areas:


 

 

  • Culture and Sustainability
  • Indian Heritage and Traditional Knowledge Systems
  • Historical and Cultural Heritage Management
  • Humanities and Inclusivity
  • Cultural Landscape and Built Environment
  • Town Planning and Architecture

The conference featured research paper presentations, keynote addresses, expert talks, and interactive knowledge sessions, providing participants with valuable opportunities to present their work, receive feedback from experts, and engage with emerging ideas in the field of traditional knowledge studies.

As the first national-level conference organized under the aegis of CITKCS, NSRC 1.0 marked a significant milestone for the Centre. The successful conduct of the conference reinforced the institution’s commitment to promoting research, documentation, preservation, and contemporary application of India's rich traditional knowledge systems, while establishing a strong foundation for future editions of the conference.

National Students’ Research Conference (NSRC) 2.0

The National Students’ Research Conference (NSRC) 2.0 was successfully conducted on 13th and 14th February 2026, beginning on an inspiring note with its inauguration by Dr. Mallinath Kalshetti, who set the tone for two intellectually enriching days dedicated to research, dialogue, and discovery.

The conference featured dynamic paper presentation sessions organized across parallel tracks, encouraging vibrant academic discussions and meaningful interdisciplinary exchange. The sessions were chaired by an eminent panel of distinguished academicians and professionals, including Dr. Ritu Deshmukh, Ar. Dhanashree Sardeshpande, Prof. S. Balaram, Ar. Jiten Prajapati, Dr. Amita Sinha, Dr. Kavita Murugkar, Prof. Archana Gaikwad, Dr. Harveen Bhandari, Dr. Shikha Jain, and Dr. Anand Achari. Their scholarly perspectives, constructive critiques, and thoughtful engagement greatly enhanced the depth and quality of the student research presentations.

NSRC 2.0 was convened by Dr. Kavita Murugkar and co-convened by Ar. Swapnali Sutar and Ar. Neha Thosar. Their dedicated leadership, meticulous coordination, and academic vision ensured the seamless execution of the conference and contributed to a highly rewarding experience for all participants.

Overall, NSRC 2.0 emerged as a vibrant celebration of student scholarship — marked by intellectual rigor, collaborative learning, and a spirited exchange of ideas — truly reaffirming the ethos of research and inquiry among young scholars.

National Student Research Conference (NSRC) 3.0

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Architecture, Pune, in collaboration with Dayanand Sagar College of Architecture, Bengaluru, is delighted to announce the National Student Research Conference (NSRC) 3.0.

Scheduled to be conducted in Hybrid Mode on 8th–9th September 2026, NSRC 3.0 is a national-level academic platform that encourages students from Architecture, Design, and allied disciplines to present their research, innovative ideas, and design explorations.

The conference aims to foster a culture of research, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning by providing students an opportunity to engage with emerging themes and contemporary practices.
