Strengthening Climate Education through Industry–Academia Collaboration

The Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Environment Education and Research (BVIEER) has taken a significant step towards strengthening experiential climate education through an industry–academia collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric, supported under a CSR initiative facilitated by Earthwatch Institute India.

As part of this initiative, a Climate Change Learning Portal Kiosk along with a weather station has been installed on campus to enhance data-driven and interactive climate learning. The kiosk enables students to engage with real-time climate information, supporting self-driven exploration and applied understanding of climate science.

The installation is housed within “Gagan,” a newly inaugurated classroom designed as a dedicated space for digital and independent climate learning. The facility was inaugurated by Mr. Hemant Thakur, Deputy General Manager (HR & Administration), Mitsubishi Electric, highlighting the role of purposeful industry–academia partnerships in creating lasting educational infrastructure.

BVIEER also acknowledges the contribution of Earthwatch Institute India and alumnus Mr. Tanmay Takey for facilitating this collaboration.
