Ranked 3rd amongst Top Private Law Colleges by India Today - MDRA Survey of best Law Colleges, 2021.
It has recently received the distinction of being ranked 4th amongst Top Private Law Colleges by Outlook in 2026, 3rd Rank-Best Law College in Maharashtra(India Today), 2nd Rank-Best Law School in Maharashtra(GHRDC), 3rd Rank-Best Law Schools in Western Region(GHRDC), 5th Rank-Best Private Law Colleges in India(The Week).
The college was inaugurated by former Chief Justice of India Hon. Mr. Justice Y.V. Chandrachud in 1978 and in 2003, proudly celebrated its silver jubilee. The foundation stone for the New Law College building was laid in 2004 by former Chief Justice of India Hon. Mr. Justice K.G. Balakrishnan and in 2005, former Chief Justice of India Hon. Mr. Justice R.C. Lahoti inaugurated the new building of the law college.
Established in 1978, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University’s New Law College is one of the premier institutes of international excellence in the field of legal education and is at par with the best law colleges in Mumbai.
The college has been consistently ranked not just as one of the Top Law Colleges in Pune, but also amongst the top ten law colleges in India on the criteria of curriculum, teaching staff, course, research, facilities, and placement.
